The Coventry Model: Embracing Co-Creation

Footage from The Coventry Model captures key insights about co-creation in the City of Peace and Reconciliation.
Film by Bonny John.

The Coventry Model: Embracing Co-Creation was a one-day conference at Coventry Transport Museum in association with 64 Million Artists. Led by Coventry City of Culture Trust's Collaborative City team, the conference platformed producers from the City of Culture, sector experts, and community artists and leaders; they shared insights about working collaboratively with Coventry's communities, exploring what co-creation can be, and they discussed the challenges of co-creating a city-wide cultural programme, the first time this has been done.

I was an associate producer and worked on The Coventry Model in an advisory role. I brought my experience of working on academic conferences during my doctoral studies to support the Conference Producer deliver a professional and impactful event that shared best practice to delegates from UK-wide sector leaders. I worked with Coventry City of Culture Trust's academic adviser Jonothon Neelands, the Executive Producer, and Chris Rolls of 64 Million Artists to shape the programme and develop the concept.
